The Thunder’s upcoming schedule.

Erik Horne (NewsOK) breaks down the Thunder’s upcoming schedule: “In the past five seasons, the NBA has used the second half of the schedule as a showcase for its Saturday night games on ABC. While the Thunder has 10 Saturday games, including several against high-profile opponents (Clippers, Lakers, Warriors), OKC won’t appear in a nationally televised game on Saturday.”

Berry Tramel (NewsOK) on this being a fan-friendlier schedule: “The result is, 22 of the Thunder’s 41 home games will be played on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. And the Sunday games start no later than 6 p.m. That means fewer late nights for Thunder fans who must work the next morning.”

Maddie Lee (NewsOK) looks at the marquee games coming up this season for the Thunder: “Reflecting that shift, the Thunder’s marquee matchups this season are no longer battles with Houston on Christmas or clashes between playoff contenders. The highlights of OKC’s schedule center around its former stars.”

Brett Dawson (The Athletic) looks at the top 10 games for the Thunder this upcoming season: “They’ll raise the curtain at The Peake on a brand-new era of Thunder basketball, and though there will have been a scrimmage and some preseason games by this point, it’ll be the home folks’ first look at a the first OKC team ever without Westbrook on it. What will Chris Paul’s second stint in Oklahoma City — and his first with the Thunder — look like? How much has Shai Gilgeous-Alexander improved? How many rebounds will Steven Adams grab without Westbrook gobbling them up? There are so many questions about this iteration of the Thunder, and this is the first night you’ll really start to get answers.”

Tony Pesta (BlueMan Hoop) says the Golden State Warriors can learn a lot from the Thunder after losing Kevin Durant: “According to recent reports, Kevin Durant had his eyes on the Brooklyn Nets for quite some time. The two-time Finals MVP apparently had begun thinking about his future after the Golden State Warriors before the 2018-19 NBA season even concluded. Does this sound familiar to you? Well, it may be because KD left the Oklahoma City Thunder in a similar way. Durant had reportedly been building a relationship with the Warriors long before he officially joined their team in the summer of 2016.”

Des Bieler (Washington Post) on former Thunder player Sebastian Telfair’s sentencing on weapons charges: “Telfair, 34, was arrested in New York in 2017 after being pulled over in his vehicle, at which point, police said, they found a cache of firearms and ammunition. He was convicted in April on a charge of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and faced a sentence of up to 15 years. At his hearing Monday in Brooklyn Supreme Court, a reportedly agitated Telfair said: “Please don’t take me from the society right now. I’m 34. I can go play in China for another six years, take care of my family.”
